Cross-functional context

TL;DR. Cross-functional context is the state where the person running ads, the person running the store listing, and the person running live-ops are all looking at the same record for a given product on a given day.

In a small studio, cross-functional teams aren't different orgs, they're the same three people wearing three hats. The problem isn't org alignment; it's tool fragmentation. The growth dashboard, the live-ops doc, and the ASO sheet each tell a different story about the same product.

Cross-functional context isn't "everyone in the same meeting." It's "everyone reading the same per-product record." When the meeting happens, nobody has to catch up. They can disagree on what to do, not on what's happening.
