Use case · Cross-functional context
Marketing, product, and live-ops finally read the same page.
Cross-functional context is the state where the person running ads, the person running the store listing, and the person running live-ops are all looking at the same record for a given product on a given day.
In a 2-10 person studio, those roles often belong to the same one or two people, which makes the problem worse, not better: context lives in their heads and disappears when they switch products. Qualia keeps the per-product record in one place so handoffs across functions stop dropping things.
Best for: Studios where one or two people wear marketing, product, and live-ops hats across multiple products.
Before & After
What changes for the studio.
The "Before" column is what most small studios tell us their week looks like today. The "After" column stays inside Qualia's real posture: monitor, detect, draft. A human signs off.
| Before Qualia | With Qualia | |
|---|---|---|
| Handing a product off mid-week | A rushed Slack thread, a missed promo window, and a week of 'wait, why did we change that?' from the receiving person. | The receiving person opens the product's record in Qualia and sees what Qualia detected and drafted. |
| Ads team asking 'what did product change last week?' | A Slack thread that scrolls past, or a meeting that should have been a paragraph. | Both sides read the same per-product record in Qualia. |
| Live-ops event planning | Live-ops picks a date in a vacuum, then finds out marketing planned a push the same week and product shipped a breaking change the day before. | Qualia drafts the live-ops move with the product and marketing context attached; a human signs off. |
FAQ
Questions studios ask
before adopting this.
We're 4 people. Do we actually have a cross-functional problem?
Probably less than a 40-person studio does. But the failure mode at 4 people is different: the context lives in two heads, and when those heads switch products everything else gets re-derived from scratch. If that sounds familiar, Qualia helps. If it doesn't, you might not need this yet.
Does Qualia replace our standups?
No. Qualia is a record, not a meeting. Most studios keep a short standup and use Qualia to remove the parts of it that were really just 'reading dashboards out loud'.
Can each function customize what they see per product?
Yes. Each product record has views tuned to marketing, product, and live-ops angles, and you can pin the surface that matches your role. Underneath, everyone is reading the same source of truth.
What if marketing and product disagree on the drafted move?
Qualia drafts; the human decides. Disagreement is handled in the approval step, not by Qualia.
